Hey Family,
So like I said in my email, I took a pretty interesting call.
So usually, people call about getting a free Bible or Book of Mormon or a Finding Faith in Christ video. But Joseph kIng just wanted to talk. He had called before a few times and had been meeting with the missionaries for a few weeks now and going to chruch. He had a few questions.
First off, he kept telling me how great he felt whenever he felt the spirit. How he already knew all these things he was being taught. It was amazing. I ended up staying on the phone with him for over an hour. I found out before I got off the phone that he was from North Carolina and he wrote songs. He played a few of them for me. They talked about this experience he was going through and the things he was feeling.
Near the end of our call, he asked me if anyone that had called ahd every prayed for me. I said no and he began to pray right then and there. It was one fo the most heartfelt prayers and made me start to cry. This man whom I had never met and just spent the last hour talking to, just poured out his testimony and prayed specifically for me. he told me that he knew that I was going to be a great missionary and answer a lot of peoples prayers, because I had answered his. He told me that he was able to feel the spirit so much more on the phone, simple because I had that spirit too.
Since about my first week here at the MTC. I've been praying and asking God for something specific. I asked God if He would show me the kind of missionary he wanted me to be. I didn't expect that answer to come the way it did. Joseph told me exactly the kind of missionary he knew I was going to be. Not only did I answer his prayer, but I almost think that call was more for me. It's funny how God prepares us to meet certain people. Joseph King touched my life that day, and one day, I'm going to thank him for it personally.
Love,
Brinton
