It's insanely cold, but I'm still alive
Date: December 06, 2007Area: Mansu, Inchon
Companion: Elder Swenson
Hello there,
How are you? Im doing just fine. Its insanely cold, but I'm still alive. (I hate cold).
I guess the Korean is getting easier. As far as English class goes, I personally don't like teaching english. It's great as a service to the people that want to learn it, but our main purpose there is finding people to teach the gospel to. and its not very often that we do. Some english classes are bigger than others. Ours is one of the others. Nonetheless, we have fun teaching english class, its on pday in our ward, so it's just kinda the cream on top and is relaxing.
Boxes....I dont have a christmas tree...or my card. sad...oh well.
Good news is I bought the family's christmas presents. I may have spent all 70 of what you gave me on them...so I need some more money to send them.Ii dont know how much that'll be.. Tell grandma I got her stuff and thank you.
I was wrong. we call on christmas day...I'll let you know details soon on what time and everything. Oh by the way mom, I absolutely loved the picture. but I absolutely loved more, that you spelled "yuo" on it instead of "you" It makes it that much better. I didnt even notice for like 4 days, it's under the glass on my desk. Don't worry about the cable, I told you I bought a card reader a while back...it's fine.
The other elders are in another area completely, we just live together. And I only got me and my companion lost. He had only been here for a week...
The Korean no longer lives in our house. He moved out the transfer before last.
Christmas isn't huge in Korea, but it's not small either. I guess decorations start going up more when it gets closer. It's nowhere near America though. It's definately different being not only away from home but away from American culture around the holidays. (SEND MORE HOT CHOCO PLEASE!!!) just a hint...its really good.
As far as my week. We still haven't found any new investigators. And we may be dropping another tomorrow. Things are tough right now. But missionary work is still awesome. It just gets kinda interesting trying to teach someone, when we have no one to teach.
Last week on pday, we went to this museum for the "Incheon Landing Operation" look it up online. Its about the korean war and how the americans played a part. Pretty cool. I've got pictures,.
Today, we're going to learn a little Tae Kwon Do...for free. Should be interesting. Then, there's some little old tourist spot we saw on splits yesterday. So we're gonna check it out. I'll let you know.
It's almost Christmas. I love Christmas. (I don't get a whole lot of christmas. But just the knowledge that it is is good enough at the moment)
Have a great week family. I love you.
