Did I mention it's absolutely freezing here...I just may die
Date: January 24, 2008Area: Osan, Pyungteak 2
Companion: Elder Kesler
Hello Family,
I had a pretty good week. We officially have 13 investigators with 6 or 7 progressing and some might even get baptized. One of our investigators is a captain at the city fire station and took us on a tour last week. He also told us that he wants his son to go on a mission to China with us and that he wants his daughter to meet the sister missionaries. He's a pretty cool guy. Also, we're teaching a lady about 50 and she's doing really well. Who knows, I could see my first baptism here in Osan...
As far as weather it's been insanely cold this last week. It snowed a couple times but it never really sticks. I think its too wet.
So here in Osan, it's kinda hard to explain exactly where I live. Maybe I can take a picture of our map or something. We live about a 25 min walk from Osan Air Base. And the apartments we live in a pretty big. The church is literally a 2 minute walk away. I really don't know how else to explain where we are though.
I'm not exactly sure how big the base is either. The only time we go on, we go straight to members houses or the food court next to the BX...we are actually allowed inside the BX. not really sure why.
My new area is definately way way way bigger than Man su...its absolutely massive. If you want to know where in the mission it is, look at the mission map with my call packet and we're at the bottom.
We got to go to the temple today and afterward we got special permission (along with a 15 percent discount) to go to On the Border up by the temple. It was way good. I also got to see a lot of friends in the Seoul Mission, they were having a Zone Conference right by the temple at the same time.
Did i mention its absolutely freezing here. I might die.
In the house we have Elder Blatter, (lived with him in mansu for a transfer) Elder Hymas (right below me) and Elder Kesler.
Our ward takes plenty good care of us. Both the Korean and American Branch. It's great. This area is one of the best in the mission.
I got 2 letters from the family last week...but thats it. Nothing from anyone else.
Well family...I love you.
Have a great week.
