It's so busy...we have a wait list...that's a good problem

Hello there,

We actually heard of President Hinckleys passing from our American members first, they all got calls from the states and called us pretty quickly. Then, also it was talked a lot about by President in Zone Conference yesterday. He explained through the scriptures how it works when a new Prophet is to be called. (Despite of how its happened historically) But yes, chances are that the new prophet will be President Monson, but as of now the Church is led by the Quorum of the 12 (currently 14) Apostles. It's way cool. Did you know back when Joseph was martyred that the quorum of the 12 led the church for approx. 3 years before Brigham Young was sustained? Pretty neat stuff.

Zone Conference yesterday was awesome. It was actually one of the best yet. Not really anything too different it was just really good.

So as far as my area goes, it has absolutely exploded and we now have a "waiting list" of people we simply dont have time to meet with right now. We have 17 or 18 investigators and 7 or 8 of them are progressing. Most of the others aren't progressing simply because they are brand new. We recently picked up a family of 6 and taught them a lesson for the first time last night. 2 of the kids are of baptismal age as well. We haven't gotten to the Restoration yet, but they pretty much don't have a church they go to and they absolutely love us. The 10 year old boy understood the things we taught better than most of our other adult investigators. They really are a great family.

Theres also another older lady we're meeting,( I think I mentioned her already) but she came to church last week and said she wants to bring her husband as well. It's way cool and she's really doing quite well.

Another guy, (the fire captain) and his son are also planning on coming to church this next week, it's tough sometimes though because in Korea, (I'm not sure if it's the same in America) but firemen work 24 hours on 24 off and he's a captain so sometimes he works even more than that. He's such a good guy though, and has such a pure heart. He's divorced and has a son and a daughter. But the daughter is afraid of us and so we just meet with the dad and the son.

So, actually On the Border is only in Seoul and I'm pretty sure it's the only one in Korea. But the area I'm in is actually one of the more remote in our mission. But that doesn't mean there aren't a ton of people still.

Well, another transfer has simply flown by as transfer calls are on Saturday. We aren't really expecting anyone in our house to leave but then again we dont call the shots.

Yes, it is always insanely cold and I absolutely hate the cold, but I'm still alive and still have dreams that it will one day be warm again and I dont have to wear a suit.

So ya, I never got anything from the Heilperns. You also need to let them know I haven't gotten the Christmas letter which is slightly discouraging. I got mail yesterday and I got a letter from Bro Heilpern, you guys (from the 15th) and from Grandma Tona. Sorry no cookies for me....

I would love my cleats, and the pads would be ok...but just shin gaurds...(you don't use other pads in soccer so I'm not really sure what your talking about.)

I love you all and hope you have an amazing week.
Brinton
