This is the last few days of our Humanitarian Mission in Ethiopia.  With happy and sad hearts we are preparing to go back home to work very hard in a different way.

Jallo Dida now has water , YEA, Hurrah,  EEEEEE, the Ethiopian happy sound.  We had our closing ceremony about a month ago.  The transformer is in place as well as everything else.  Last week we went with our replacements, the O’Crowleys and check out the functioning water system.  My friend Momina is monitoring one of the stations.  It was sad to see her go as we both know that we will most likely never see each other again.

The closing ceremony was a grand Gala.  Becky was right in the thick of the things, singing and chanting with joy and happiness.  Elder Thomas and Elder Ashdown were dancing with the children and assisting Steve with Head shoulder knees and toes.  Etetu and Tomaru did translation for us as well as kept us in line.

The day before the closing ceremony Etetu, Ashibur and Tomaru as well as two missionaries helped us clean Jerry Cans as part of the hygiene and sanitation program.  There were dozens in line to clean their cans.  Cans are almost impossible to clean when they come from the dirty muddy water.

Jallo Dida has been a very successful project.   In fact another NGO is planning to add on to our system, so this Latter-day Saint Charities wellsite will bless many, many more lives with clean water.

We hope you have enjoyed our mission letters.    We will share our fifteen thousand plus mission pictures and videos with you if you would like.

With Love

Elder and Sister Himle
