Letter: We did it!!!! http://www.missionsite.net/elderclarkposton/viewletter/163491 Hey, i´m doing a lot better with my health. There weren´t any results, the doctors just thought it might have been a virus.  I´m hoping it´s out of me.  I haven´t had any problems this week.   You know me very well, i´m having alot of mixed emotions… it´s hard.  I know this week is going to be a tough one.  I´ve already started packing.  I´ve gotten rid of pretty much all my clothes, i´ll only be coming home with a few things and alot of stuff from Ecuador.  I´m not stressed too much about packing or the weight limit.  We have a 50 pound weight limit and I know it´ll be easy to complete.  I still have the weight machine we bought when I was leaving for the mtc.  As far as flight requirements and my schedule i´m not too worried.  Sunday afternoon i´ll be going into quito with my suitcases and i´ll be staying with all the elders from my group.  Monday we have capacitations ( college, work, life after the mission stuff) and then we have interviews.  Monday night we have our last dinner and then testimonies and well Tuesday morning at 3 am i´ll be going to the airport and by 6:30 i´ll be in the air heading to Miami.  That´s pretty much my weekend and end of the mission….. I can´t believe how fast it has come.   I´m really sad and so is everyone else.  I knew it was going to be hard but now i´m living the reality.  Daniel,nefi, and Hno. Gia are very sad.  I´m having a going away party Friday. 4 families are getting together and throwing a party.  Daniel´s Family, Hno. Gia´sFamily, Adrians Family, and Nefi´s family. It´s probably going to be all afternoon. They all are going to the airport Tuesday Morning too.  I´m excited for the party, i´ll be sure to take lots of pictures.  I heard we´re going to be doing karaoke, lol, I know it´ll be fun.  I really worry about Daniel.  He´s very sad.   I´m doing good though, I know it´s going to be sad but where there´s goodbyes theres also hellos and i´m so excited to see everyone at RDU.  I can´t wait for the airport and just to hug everyone.  I can´t wait to just relax and talk to you.  My mind this whole past month has been shot, I have so many feelings.    I too can´t wait to be all together again.  It stinks that you´re going to have to go back to work.  Im sure the girls are excited though to just have brother time.  i´m scared to come home and start over.  Im scared its going to be a lot different, different than how I feel now.  That´s normal though, I know within a month i´ll be “normal” again, lol.  It´s still a scary feeling.   My mission has changed me so much and honestly I love Ecuador.  I love the people and I love the many things I have learned here.  I know that this experience has truly changed me.   I´m excited to see what happens next Tuesday and I just hope everything goes well.  I know this week is going to be tough but i´ll get through it.  I´m so excited to see you all and give you a big hug.  I´m excited for the new phone too!!!!  I´m going to call from Miami so everyone can be prepared.  Im not sure if ill be writing Monday.  Thank you so much for your prayers especially for this week that is coming up.  I love you so much and ill see you very very soon!!!!!     We did it!!!! I love you forever and always mama……  clark Letter: I'm feeling a little better... http://www.missionsite.net/elderclarkposton/viewletter/162844 Hey there, Im feeling a little better.  i haven´t been hungry so i´ve just been drinking gatorade and i´m still taking the pills i was given.  i´m going back to the doctor tomorrow and maybe i´ll get some results.  i´m just trying to take it easy.   i´m just excited to see all of you!   We had a talent show last week and it went very well.  it was the whole stake, so imagine if all of the goldsboro stake got together to have a "sing off".  it was like american idol.  each ward had 2 candidates and each performed.  but the missionaries were a last minute surprise.  we got to the activity and were watching when up ran one of the judges and asked us to sing so we sung 2 songs and had a standing applause.  it was so fun.  there were a ton of people there.  it really made my week.  it´s been the best stake activity i´ve attended here in ecuador.  there´s 8 wards here in santo domingo but they're not too far apart from each other, like 5 to 10 min apart each one.  i´ll have to explain ALL of my mission and the way it works when i get home.  thank you for giving me the heads up on speaking in the goldsboro ward, i´ll be preparing that on my long plane ride.  theres so much to pack into such a short time.   i´ve gotten my suit made, the lady is just doing the final touches.  i´m excited to get it.  i´m going to be wearing it when i get off the plane!  daniel asked me today if you got his email.  i think he wants you to email him back, lol.  he understands a little bit of english and plus i could translate it for him.  i´m excited about the airport.  i don´t think my suitcases will be tooooo much, there´s not a lot im taking home.  i´m getting excited though.  sad at the same time, especially about the people.  i am tired though so i´m hoping to get rested up to have a lot of little parties at home... walmart and bojangle trips!!!  well, i´m going to go. I haven't got much to tell this week since I've been sick for most of it like last week. i know this isn´t long but we´ve got so much to do!!!  i won´t be going to quito,we were all going Wednesday but i got permission to stay here.  i need to rest.  i hope youre doing good.  tell everyone i love them and i´m so excited to see them!!! it´s going to be great!!!  only 15.. almost 14 days!!!!  i love you forever and always mama.... clark Letter: This week I've been sick, stuck in the house... http://www.missionsite.net/elderclarkposton/viewletter/161787 Hey there, this week ive been having a time.  my companion, Elder Vasquez, i had to take to the hospital friday night.  he had a burning high fever of 104 and he was loopy.  well by sunday i had a fever and my throat was raw.  we have been sick all weekend, we didnt even go to church.  we have been stuck in the house.  im doing a little bit better, my nose is still clogged up and my eyes are sore but ive been wearing my glasses.  its in times like these where i wish i had perfect vision.  so youre not the only one that hasn't felt good, i know exactly how you feel.   so about the 19th .... i think im just going to go back with you and David and the girls.  its their birthday and its important that im there so i think thats the best.  maybe lauren or ben can come up? im not sure when ben starts classes or lauren but maybe there will be options.  im trying to just take everything one day at a time.  i dont know what to think.  ill be going back with you guys though.  i just want to be able to relax.  new room, new clothes, and food!     as far as life here, nothing much has changed. there are still problems but with health issues we have been stuck in the house.  next wednesday we have a leaders meeting with president ghent and then the week after ill be heading out.   before i forget HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!  i hope you have a good birthday, do something fun!!! eat some outback for me!  we will have to celebrate when i get home.  me, you, and the girls. maybe we can do a ross/tjmaxx scavenger hunt! hahah thatll be fun.   sorry this letter is so debbie downer, i guess ive been down this week since Ive been sick... forever and always.... clark Letter: Find someone else to help... http://www.missionsite.net/elderclarkposton/viewletter/161023 hey there, i´m doing good.  it´s weird to think we´re in the 20´s.  i bet you´re getting excited!  i know lauren and katherine are, they sent me emails and lauren sent pictures from youth conference.  i got your package and i got it on a day i really needed it.  every time i´ve received your packages i´ve gotten them on days when i´ve been sad.  thank you.  i´ve only ate a couple of things out of the package... the snacks are all perfect!  thank you so much.  lauren said she´s preparing the signs for RDU, hahaha.  speaking of which , i received emails today about luggage.... it´s getting more real.   it sounds like you have been very very busy.  i can only imagine how the desk experience went up in asheville with david, i´m sure you both enjoyed that.  i had an experience like that this week, my companion did something so funny to the point where i was on the floor grabbing my stomach and laughing at the same time.  i was in tears.   monday we had a family home evening in La Concordia with the Mendoza Family and Manny came with his wife.  it was good.  we cooked tacos and celebrated hermana mendoza´s birthday.  there were a lot of people there. we had fun and it was a very good birthday.    a good thing did happen this week.  the other night when i was so stressed out and irritated with things in my zone an old man passed by and asked me if the bus had passed.  i told him i didn´t think there was a bus at this hour so he sat on the corner and just waited.  i realized he only had 25 cents for a bus so i stopped a taxi and sent him on his way.  i don´t know why i did it but it just felt like the thing to do.  i felt so good after, i wasnt even irritated.  that´s my goal for this week is when i´m irritated or stressed, find someone else to help instead of thinking in myself and my problems.  i´m so ready for bojangles and a mt. dew, lol.   we´ve got to work harder this week.  we´ve been being a little lazy, the whole zone, and everyone is in bad moods.  i´m hoping we can change that.  my companion is more dead than i am and he´s got 5 months left, he wants to go home so bad, lol.    question.  i was going to make a suit but i didn´t know what you thought.  i talked to a member here who makes suits and she said she could do one for me and it would cost 80 to 100 dollars.  a three piece suit.  can i do one? i want one for when i get off the plane.  my black suit is all worn out.  i didn´t know what you thought so i was going to ask you first.  let me know.   welp, these letters get more boring every week.  there´s not too much to tell.  i´m doing alright, a little good a little bad but that´s the mission.  i´m excited to see my new room! clark Letter: tons of stuff to do! http://www.missionsite.net/elderclarkposton/viewletter/159952 i´m going to be an uncle!!!! woohoo!!! please make sure and tell whitney and stetson "congratulations!!!". you´re finally going to be a grandma even if you don´t claim it, lol.  i´m also very excited for Hailey and Kate.  they´ve really fullfilled some of their dreams, it´s so good to hear that they are doing good.  i think a lot about all of us... hailey, kate, me, hailey, and shelton.  i believe we´re all doing the many things we wanted to do.  i hope i can catch up with them when i get home.  i bet the new nicholas sparks movie is going to be really good.  now, next on the list... ben.  i talked to him and he said he wasn´t sure if he was going to ecu or not.  he said it was very expensive.  i guess maybe he´s decided to go.  if you hear anything else let me know.  i´m ready to see him and brittany.  ben said he´s going to be waiting at RDU with cheesecake for me, lol.   now as for me, i´m doing very well.  i´m really enjoying my time i´ve got left.  my companion keeps me laughing, we always have something to talk about.  i´ve also been getting to know the missionaries in my zone.  this past weekend i spent in La Concordia with Elder Uribe and Elder Morton.  Elder Uribe is from mexico and has about a year in the mission and Elder Morton is from Utah and only has a couple of weeks here.  We had fun, they had a baptism this weekend.  i was also in quito this week in a zone leaders meeting with  President Ghent.  it went very well, we even ate subway.  we went to the middle of the world too, it´s was the 4th of july that day.  i´m glad i´m not serving in quito though, i don´t like it at all plus it´s cold.  i´m comfortable here in the coast.  we got back from quito friday and welp it´s monday.  this pass week flew by.  this week we have a lot of stuff planned too.  tomorrow we have a mini zone conference with our zone, tomorrow night we have a birthday party with the Mendoza Family (my favorite family from Quininde), wednesday we have a zone service project with the stake presidency, and saturday we have a birthday party with the Garzon Family.  tons of stuff to do!  i like being busy though, it keeps time going fast.   i had a good day today, elder morton and elder uribe are staying with us tonight because of the reunion tomorrow.  i´m not too sure what we´ll be doing tonight.  i´m tired, we played volleyball again today.  i hope you do something fun this week!!! http://www.missionsite.net/elderclarkposton/viewletter/159240 hey there, what a busy two days i have had!!! yesterday we had a ton of changes in our zone so elder vasquez and i had to make sure that all the missionaries were able to leave safely as well as receive the new missionaries here in santo domingo. we were running around all day and things finally settled down around 8:30. we received 6 new missionaries in the zone and all are latinos! there´s 16 of us here in Santo Domingo. today we woke up to a busy morning too. there are festivals in Santo Domingo today and our sector is the central part of the whole city so there was a HUGE parade that started at 9 and ended around 1. the church, the stake center (our ward) is right there in the middle where the parade passed so we were there with the whole stake. tomorrow is a festival for you, HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!! i´ll be in Quito. elder vasquez and i have to go to quito until friday because we have a zone leaders conference with President Ghent. i´m ready to see a lot of the my friends in the mission that i haven´t seen in a while. i have a feeling that this week is going to go by fast, we´re going to be busy everyday this week. these past two days have been crazy!!! tonight we have to go out to La Concordia (it´s 45 min away) to do an interview for a family that is preparing for their baptism this saturday. it sounds like you had a good time at grandma´s! thank you so much for the pictures. how was the beach? did you get to go with lauren and morgan?? it´s getting hot hear but not as hot as there i bet. brittany jones told me that it was around 108 this past week there in NC. that´s super hot. she also said that she was going to the airport on august 14th, i hope that´s okay. i really do want them to be there. it seems real now, only 6 more pdays! that is so weird. tomorrow i´m going to be seeing elder leishman and elder aiken, i´m sure that´ll be all we talk about. we´re all going to miami together and then from there i´ll leave apart from them. i bet you´re getting more and more excited. i am too! it´s funny you mentioned the family y, i actually think i would use it to go work out. that´s one goal i have when i get home is to get my body more in shape. do you think you´d use the y? maybe we could go together, i don´t know. i'm so ready to have a phone, drive a car, and wear normal clothing. that sounds selfish but it´s true. i´ve been looking forward to being able to wear normal clothing. i´m really ready for that. you sound very excited to have the family back together!!! it will be nice. i´m excited too, it´s going to be a new adventure. i think i´m going to like asheville, more opportunities. it´s very artistic too!!! just thinking about everything there.... there´s concerts, galleries, and i know that it´ll be just for me. i´m excited, a clean start. i thought of something the other day and i´m just going to throw it out there. you asked about some things i´d like in my room, how about you do a piece of art work and put it in my room. it can be a painting... a drawing... ceramic... anything artistic. that´d be the best thing in the whole room!!! as far as college and working goes i have no idea. i want to start college but simple, i graduated in 2009 and it´s 2012...lol. i don´t remember anything. and a job, i´d like to work in retail again.... i don´t know though. i am getting excited though. we´re working here, everyone is tired. i´m hoping that things will brighten up with all these new missionaries. i´m dying... i´m going to be honest. sometimes it hard to leave the house with the same excitement everyday. i´m trying though. i am going to miss it here. i´m thankful to be ending in Santo Domingo. i can´t wait to share everything with you. i´m the most excited about that. i am scared though. i want to come back so bad. i´m really afraid of that, that i´ll never come back again or that i won´t see these people again. i´m going to do everything in my power to come back.... work work and work. to come back i´d only have to pay for the plane ticket and money to get by for the days i´m here. i´m lucky, my passport is good for 10 years and here the money is american money... whew. i´m looking forward to it. oh and i believe that everyone is gettting married. i heard that danielle wiggins got married, reba potter got married, who else? goodness. i´m excited to see you though and i can´t wait to give you a huge hug. what are you planning on doing this week???? let me know. thank you for putting money in my account. i miss you so much. i can´t wait to see you, we´re so close. keep smiling mama, i´ll see you soon. i love you forever and always... you know that. have fun, clark! Letter: New sector and new companion... http://www.missionsite.net/elderclarkposton/viewletter/157446   hey there, i´m doing good. this week went by fast. i do have news, i received emergency changes again today and it looks like i´ll be staying here in Santo Domingo to end my mission!!!!!! i´m serving with elder vasquez in a sector called Los Angeles. President called me this morning and told me the changes and he told me to work hard these next 8 weeks. my companion is very very very outgoing and crazier than i am. i´ve known and heard about him through the mission. he´s from guatemala and has 18 months in the mission. my district is pretty sad along with daniel and nefi but like i told them, at least i´m close by. i only live 5 minutes away and my church is the stake center. i´m very happy to be ending here in santo domingo, heavenly father has been hearing my prayers. i´m hoping these next 6 weeks will be some of my best. i know they´re going to be hard but i hope everything turns out good. Elder Waddell is coming thursday, i´m anxious to hear from him. i´ve found that i´ve been sad lately. elder borroel gave me the best advice the other day and told me to just have fun the rest of the way and not focus so much on going home but enjoy the time i have left. i´m trying. i love the youth. if i receive a calling after the mission i want to work in the young men or in seminary, i think the youth would help me so much. i wish i could call you and just talk to you. honestly i´m lost. i´m nervous about coming home and starting over again and mainly leaving all this behind. daniel and nefi are getting sad, i think they know that it´s getting closer and closer. they go out with us just about everyday. it´s hard. i just want someone to talk to. i´ve been asking heavenly father to help me, to give me strength. my mind is always spinning. i´m really going to need you to be strong for me when i get home. i´ve thought about this a lot and i just need you to prepare. i can´t wait to share everything with you. i´m so glad to hear that you´re doing good and that you´re getting ready for summer. thank you so much for your prayers and for your love. i miss you so much and i know you miss me just please remember that ending isn´t as easy as starting. it´s just like "the other side of heaven"... everything feels so strange. i´m a worrier too..... i love you with all of my heart, forever and always. please smile and know that you´re in my prayers each night. i love you mama.... clark Letter: Im' so glad I've served a mission... http://www.missionsite.net/elderclarkposton/viewletter/156390   hey there and happy 22 months!!! i can´t believe it´s already 22 months. i am so PROUD of the girls. congrats to chloe and connor for all the hard work they did this past year and throughout elementary school, i´m so happy to hear about their accomplishments!!! i´m so proud of them! they are not little girls anymore, they look like teenagers! i was shocked to see them with Aeropostale shirts on. they´ve grown up! how about that 100 dollar savings bond?? wow!!! impressive. my week went by slow but then again i´m only down to 9. I don´t know what´s going on with me. i don´t want to come home mama, and i know it hurts you to hear that but i´m so scared and i love so many people here that i know it´s going to kill me to leave. i´ve been asking heavenly father to give me strength especially with spiritual experiences but even more with preparing myself to leave. i´ve truly learned to forget about myself and just love. to love and be loved in return. i´m so thankful, so so so thankful for the youth here and my companions. they are so loving. i´m so glad i´ve served a mission, i´m so grateful for the experiences i´ve had, and i know with no doubt that this gospel is true. heavenly father hears our prayers and thoughts and he always provides a way. i was given some advice today from daniel, he told me to just endure to the end and everything will turn out fine. endure to the end. theres a spirit here in Santo Domingo and i´m so grateful for it. i had a good day, we spent the day with the youth and hno. gia. we ate lunch, played volleyball, and played soccer. i don´t know what we´re going to do tonight. my zone leader is in the hospital so i think we´re going to go there and visit him. he´s sick. this week... i have no idea what i´m going to do either but i´m hoping some miracles fall out of the sky. the other elders have a baptism this weekend, it´s a family of four. i was able to interview them yesterday and i know that heavenly father has been preparing them. they are such sweet spirits all the way down to the kids. 9 weeks. weird huh? elder waddell is coming next thursday to visit the mission. i´m ready to hear from him. it´ll be very good for all of us. satan is attacking us so hard. the spirits are down in the mission. i´m doing good. i´m not going to lie, every week is getting harder because i know that very soon all of this is going to end. but like i said before, i´m so grateful for my mission. i love ecuador with all my heart. thank you for supporting me. thank you for listening. i´m so happy, this has really been the best 2 years so far of my life. i love you so very very much, to the stars and back. forever and always of course. i hope you have a good week to relax and that you have a good time in Goldsboro. tell grandma i got her package of candies!!!! i got it saturday. elder sarmiento, daniel, and i ate the treats! i love you mama.... clark clark
