Well I am online now, but we have to leave early for the Hilton where the Himle's are feeding us lunch for Elder Wright's birthday so we don't get to stay long. Anyway I will give you a rundown for my week. So after I e-mailed on Tuesday we went to teach and ended up teaching a guy named Bikla who we contacted on the way to teach English at a school last Thursday. Well we taught him and he is really cool. He came to church on Sunday and asked how he could learn more and when he could be baptized. I'm not getting my hopes up but it is exciting. Then on Wednesday we had our district meeting and I gave a training that I wasn't prepared enough for and could've done better but I procrastinated. Oh well we learn from our mistakes. Well Thursday was good. We taught English and the little kids are a lot of fun. I try to subtely throw in some doctrine while I am teaching verb tense like this:
1. God called prophets in the past.
2. God calls prophets now.
3. And God will continue to call prophets in the future.
I know it may sound crazy but I am trying to plant seeds. Then Friday was ok. We just had our weekly planning session and then taught quite a few lessons. We have some really good potential investigators and are hoping to have 2 baptisms. I heard form Elder Swallow that William was baptized in Nsambya which is great. And another one of our investigators had a great story. He was living with a woman while we were teaching him and we counseled him to get married. He said he loved her and wanted to get married but she didn't. So we just kept teaching him and let him decide what to do. He is a great guy and I love him and kept e-mailng him. But I just found out that he was reading the Book of Mormon and he felt that he should dump her. So he did and felt really bad but found comfort by reading the book of Mormon. So he now has a baptismal date. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited and can't wait to congratulate him. I love that guy. But anyway Saturday was cool and Sunday was good because the Whitings and the Himles came to sacrament meeting and we had over 50 people at church which is the most I’ve seen there. And it’s been funny this week because people stopped me on the street to congratulate me about the elections in America. They think that Obama is going to do something for Africa just because his grand mother is Kenyan.
So the Gatorade pouches in my last package were genius and I love them. And we had our primary program yesterday and they sang Called to Serve and remembered when I said 'oh glory' during the chorus when I was little. I busted out laughing and people kept asking me if was ok and I assured them I was but I couldn't stop laughing. Anyway as far as stuff that I need I could use some colored pencils and another notebook like the two that you sent me with. And stuff that I want is stuff like peanut butter M&Ms and the City of Joseph sound track. I think thats it though.
So how are things back home?
My camera is still screwed up so I will try to send it to you. I hated it when my companions took pictures with my camera so I don't know if I can borrow one to take pictures until mine gets fixed.
Well, I have to go so I will say goodbye. I love you all. Elder Green
