I am surprised to be writing again so soon.
I feel like it was two days ago that I wrote a letter of epic proportions. I did
not leave myself much to report this week, except that the work is still going
forward.

Wolfgang’s baptism is scheduled after church this Sunday, and he still
seems to be determined to see it through. He is now keeping the Word of Wisdom,
and to support him, Elder White and I have given up chocolate for a month. We
have been eating way too many sweets, and we decided that if Wolfgang was making
changes, so would we. My biggest fear with Wolfgang is that he is rather shy,
and has not yet developed a strong social support system in the Ward. He has a
tendency to hide in the back of a crowd and so a lot of people have not really
gotten acquainted with him yet. He is not totally alone though - he seems to get
along well with several of the other single adults in the ward, particularly
Brother Blos. I think he is ready to be baptized, we will just need to be
careful that he is not forgotten, and left to himself afterward.

Natasha (Sister Hach-Schwartzs sister)
surprised us by coming to church on Sunday. She has been on vacation for a long
time, and has had a lot of problems with her boyfriend about meeting with us.
Apparently after a heated conversation, he “allowed” her to come to church twice
a month. Well, it is better than nothing, and it shows that, at least in part,
she recognizes that what she is learning is important. We do not enjoy being a
source of contention between them, so we are doing everything we can to convince
Marco that neither the missionaries, nor the Church, are trying to steal his
girlfriend. The Hach-Schwartzs are also doing their best to smooth things over;
we are here to help people, not to make enemies.

Last night we met with a former investigator
named Alex. He is twenty two, and lives right around the block from us. He is
really cool and already knows a lot about the Church, the Book of Mormon, etc.,
he even understands and seems to be keeping most of the commandments. All in
all, he seems Golden. His biggest problem right now is time. He is a full time
student, and puts in 40 hours a week at the Post Office. I am really looking
forward to meeting with him again.

That is really all that I have for this
week, I will make it up by sending a lot of photos.

I love you all,

Elder Guin
