Our Safety lays in the Laws and Ordinances of the Gospel

Before joining the church our BML, brother Raffy, faced a lot of opposition from his wife. He continued and was the only member in his family until this last Saturday, when Sister Imelda Villinauava and her son Mark entered the waters of baptism. The word that best describes them the last 2 days is beaming. Brother Raffy was the baptizer. Sister Imelda bore a strong testimony.

Sunday she was filling out a tithing slip. She is always telling us, "look at all the blessings that have come into my life" and "I hope the whole family will join." We have been teaching Alex and her husband. We will continue to help them both in making and keeping commitments.

Sister Margie's mom passed away this week. She is an RM and wife of our investigator Brother Nick. They have been caring for her after she had a stroke and has been in a paralyzed state for the past few months. We stopped by Friday night and next Friday we will do a funeral service for them with the branch. Brother Nick was at church Sunday and has a date for April 2.

A few weeks ago, at the Cauayan District Conference President Carlos made this comment after announcing the new district presidency, something like, "you know these men, they are not perfect. You may know some of their weaknesses. The Lord knows them too, and He has called them anyway." I liked that.

I know President Carlos has been called of God to lead this mission. I am so grateful for a Savior. I know Jesus is the Christ and that His Atonement is a reality. The Atonement was for all of us, each and every one.

The Lord said knowing the calamities that would come upon the inhabitants of the Earth, called upon His servant Joseph Smith Jr. I know Joseph Smith is a prophet. I know our safety lays in the laws and ordinances of the gospel.

It's a great time to be alive and a part of this work.
