Happy Presidents Day!

Hello Dearest family and friends!
We just finished off a really wonderful week of missionary work!
Wednesday Elder Jenkins and I were visited by the Loess Hills Elders
(its a YSA ward) for exchanges. I got to go out for a few hours with
Elder To'ofo'he, who is from The kingdom of Tonga! Elder Jenkins went
out with Elder Jones (who knows the Cahoons, or at least Natalie. He
wrestled for Lone Peak I think..?). They are both really fun Elders
and we enjoyed visitors all the way out here in the Logan area. We
don't get many visitors out here haha.
Elder To'ofo'he is hilarious! When we were eating spaghetti, he
grabbed my hot sauce and asked "is it hot??" and I said it was a
little spicy. He then grabbed it, tipped the spout, and poured a
little on his spaghetti. He must have not been very satisfied with the
design of the bottle, as he yanked off the spout/cap and poured about
1/3 of the bottle into his bowl. We all started laughing, and he took
one bite and said "Not spicy. GOOOOODD!".
When he went up for seconds, he grabbed my empty bowl and decided to
get me more as well. I said "Not too much fo'he! I'm full." He then
went well past when I told him "thats good! no no not that much, thats
good!", and filled the bowl to the brim... Elder Jones leaned my way
as he saw the panic on my face, and as Elder to'ofo'he placed the bowl
in front of me, he whispered, "...Tongan portions.".
I think I have decided that foreign missionaries are the funniest
(largely in part to the language/culture barrier), but they also bare
the most sincere testimony. Something Elder To'ofo'he testified about
concerning the Gift of the Holy Ghost really struck me. In his broken
English, he said, pointing to himself as he spoke,
" I no smile... I no cry... In my heart, I am happy."
What a profound testimony! What a blessing it is to have the Holy
Ghost with us ALWAYS after we are Baptized and Confirmed into the true
church of Jesus Christ!
To be happy in our hearts, even when we aren't laughing and smiling.
To be feeling joy, even when we aren't crying tears of joy. The truths
of this Gospel bring HAPPINESS. And as missionaries, that is what we
are doing our best to help the world realize. Then, once they see that
for themselves, our work is done. The happiness they find through
Christ does the work for us.
I love you all so much. I appreciate the support you continue to give me.
The work is hard, but it is NOT in vain. This I testify, in the name
of our King, our Lord, our Savior, even Jesus the Christ.
