Dear Family and Friends,

As many of you probably know by now, Tyler has been having a recurrence of the pain in his upper right abdomen that he had before his call to Brazil. The doctors were never able to diagnose him, and told us that things had to progress to a more severe level before they could go any further. Their tentative thought was that it was his gall bladder, but none of the tests could prove that. For many months before he left, he was pain free and we thought that the problem had resolved itself.

On Monday, he told me that the pain had returned and was worse than ever before. Apparently he's been trying to ignore it and see if it would go away again. But it's become hard to ignore because it's not subsiding like it usually does. He was so afraid to say anything to anyone, because he thought they would send him home. The last thing he said was that his zone leader, Elder Wat, was calling President Hoggan as he sat at the computer.

We are hoping and praying that they can do the tests there in Brazil, instead of sending him home. The last thing he wants, or what any of us want, is for him to have to leave his beloved Brazil.

I emailed President Hoggan to give him some background information on the tests he'd had done last year. I haven't heard anything yet, but when I do, I'll post it here and let you all know. For now, we wait.

Thank you for your fasting and prayers for Tyler last Sunday! I told him we had fasted for him as a family, and he was so grateful. (And amazed, because he hadn't even told anyone about the pain yet!)

With love,
Meisje
