Hello!

Well this has been kind of a crazy week.  There are more sisters coming to the mission than usual so they had to open a new area for them.  They decided to open Mukono 1...my area.  So Elder Omondi and I are getting transferred.  He is going to Kabowa and I am going to Mengo.  I'm going to be with a South African named Elder Pearl.  I'm excited it should me fun.  From what I've heard the area that I am going into has the worst hills in the mission.  Uganda is full of hills but this one is the worst.  We'll see how it goes.  The Assistants are coming to pick us up in just a little while.  I really wanted to know where I was going for a while...I new I was going to be transferred cause we were supposed to look for a new flat for the sisters.  And Elder Tuttle, from my group, is going to Ethiopia.  We will now have two over there...Tuttle and Ouma.

We weren't able to meet with Jackson this week...but the one who referred us to him (Ronnie the branch mission leader and 2nd councilor in the branch presidency) wanted us to challenge him to be baptized.  We made a program with him tonight but we wont be there for it.  I think the other elders are going to see.  We've been teaching a lot and seeing a lot of less actives/recent converts so there isn't anyone else close to baptism dates yet but I think Jackson will end up getting baptized.  I'll get to go see some new people this week...hopefully there is some progressing people in Mengo.

Yesterday was really cool because we got to go to Kololo to see Kampala become a stake.  Elder Koelliker was there and it was a really good meeting.  Now there are a lot of people getting ordained to be High Priests...high councilman, bishops and the stake presidency.  The stake presidency is the same as the district presidency but they will do a good job.  The stake president...Jimmy Carter Okot is very young and I am pretty sure will be a general authority someday.  They also called a stake patriarch.  There are now 6 wards and I think five branches here.  Mukono is a ward but Mengo is a branch still.  They have the same attendance about but they don't have the same amount of Priesthood holders.

Thank you so much for everything...the prayers and letters!

Love,
Elder Scoresby
