Being watched over

Date: October 23, 2006
Area: Jinga
Companion: Elder Masa

I think you can feel good about the safety of me and others here. I feel very strongly that angels watch over us. The other day we were walking down the road and the one elder behind me was going to walk up beside me as we were talking. He walked right in front of a motorbike (they pass VERY close) and somehow seemed to not get hit. I could tell it shocked him. I didn’t want to make a big deal of it so he would calm down. But I really don't know how he didn't get hit. Everyone seems perfectly healthy. I shake the hands of filthy little children everyday and still manage to stay healthy.

I saw what I think was a juvenile cheetah in my backyard Thursday. I tried to run out and get a picture of it since our back yard is fenced in with lots of banana trees. But it somehow got to the front and squeezed under the front gate (we found its hair from it doing so). So no picture...

My baptisms from last week were confirmed yesterday. It was nice. We have about 3 other strong investigators with baptism dates, but for some reason it’s hard to get them to come to church regularly. But they have strong faith and understand our message. So we're patient.
