Investigators and persecution

Date: June 11, 2007
Area: Entebbe
Companion: Elder Muia

Sixteen investigators at church yesterday. Now I just have to figure out how to progress them all to a baptism. Our area is pretty spread out. I'm very surprised that some of these people come from so far. It shows sacrifice. That's always good. But it is hard to juggle all our appointments. Especially if someone stands you up. Keeping time isn't one of their fortes. Actually this one investigator we have is completely illiterate. Can't even write 1-10. But I'm working that out real quick. One of our recent converts is a head master (principle) at a primary (elementary) school. So we're hooking Bosco up with a free education. One on one at the church with a head master a few times a week I'm hoping. Then maybe one day he'll be able to sing along with us in the hymn book.

We wanted to teach Penny about missionary work this week. About "Every member a missionary." Then she told us about how she's already inviting her friends and going through persecution for reading the Book of Mormon. I told her about the persecutions from the beginning of time for the truth. She said, "I'm ready for the challenges..." So once again I'm glad I kept teaching her at that shop. But I seriously think she wants to be a full time missionary in one year. She's been talking about it. So I'll do what I can to put her in that direction. I definitely think she's the type for it though.
