Robbed - again, coming transfers, Dallan's mission call
Date: September 10, 2007
Area: Jinja Companion: Elder Wright
The thief got in again last Monday while we were gone! This time he took Elder Ray's CD player (still not mine), some more money, my Nike basketball shorts, a battery charger, my converter plug and my companion's, and I think he took my companion's USB cord for his camera. This person is weird... He actually used my companion’s electric shaver and didn't take it. The sick part is that the hair he found inside it wasn't exactly facial hair... But whoever it was must have had a key somehow. I have a few different theories, and sadly enough one of them involves the Elders who lived in the house before us. But that's not good to think about. Anyways, we changed all the locks on the doors. So I think that should solve the problem. Thieves are not cool, that's for sure. But I guess I can still look at this as a blessing. Nothing was really stolen from me that had any value behind it. So that's good.
There are going to be nine new Elders coming within the month. I'm pretty sure my companion will transfer. I've been campaigning for him too. I have a feeling that I might too... That's no problem though. I actually liked training. Or maybe I just liked Elder Dube. Or both, I don't know. I am a little tired of this area. It just feels dead. We'll have a baptism on the 23rd for sure, but other than that, everything seems to be a dead end. Just "sowing, daily sowing." When we came we were told that we weren't here to plant seeds, although it would happen. We were told that we came to harvest. Well, baptisms have slowed down a lot from last year.
I don't have any needs I think. I take Doxycyclin everyday for Malaria. It's basically an antibiotic itself to my understanding. Don't send any bottled water. We do have plenty of water. Those homemade cookies were pretty cool. You can send some more of those if you want. Maybe a couple of white shirts, mine are starting to turn a yellow color. Size 15.5 or 16.
Not much else to say today. I'll be waiting anxiously to hear Dallan's call. If you're lucky he'll open it in your presence. As for me I still don't regret opening it on my own on the beach in southern California. But I'm sure you and Mom wished I would have at least done it over the phone. Sometimes things are just personal, and you have to respect that. And I think you did, thanks
Have a great week. I love you. Thanks for everything.
